Als Chefredakteur war scherzhaft ‚Mohammed‘ benannt worden. Noch am selben Tag verübten Unbekannte einen Brandanschlag auf die Redaktion. Ein Mitglied der Verlagsleitung betonte später, dass niemand das Scharia-Sonderheft vor dem Brandanschlag gelesen haben konnte, da es erst Stunden später an die Kioske kam. Im September 2012 geriet ‚Charlie Hebdo‘ wieder in die Schlagzeilen, als es Karikaturen des islamischen Propheten abdruckte.
Die Titelseite zeigte eine Zeichnung, auf der ein orthodoxer Jude einen bärtigen Muslim im Rollstuhl vor sich herschiebt – in Anspielung auf den gleichnamigen Kinofilm ‚Ziemlich beste Freunde‘. Die Auflage wurde zum Verkaufsschlager, stieß jedoch auf erheblichen Widerstand.

Sämtliche nun in der Informationsindustrie über das Fantom “lslamischen Staat” lancierten Meldungen und Berichte über Gräuel, Massenmorde und Schwerverbrechen, die letztlich von diesen Schattenarmeen selbst stammen und eins zu eins von der etablierten Presse übernommen werden, sind in diesem Zusammenhang zu sehen.
Kern- und Knackpunkt ist dabei das nun seit bald 13 Jahren ausgerufene quasi-religiöse Dogma und Denkverbot, was gerade von allen ehemals oder vermeintlich progressiven, linken, sozialdemokratischen oder sozialistischen Gruppen und Organisationen am vehementesten verteidigt und hochgehalten wird:
Legenden der Geheimdienste dürfen nicht in Frage gestellt werden.
