New crisis response force gets ready to deploy to Middle East
The U.S. military is preparing to deploy a new crisis response force to the Middle East as threats to U.S. facilities and personnel there grow.
Marine Corps Col. Kenneth DeTreux said the new unit is being set up and will be deployed to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility in fiscal 2015. The 2,100 troops will be stationed throughout the theater with the headquarters element in Kuwait, he said.

Why Won‘t The Press Admit That CIA Director John Brennan Lied?
We‘ve been writing a bit about CIA director John Brennan and his continuing to misrepresent the truth and outright lie. As you probably know, back in March, Senator Dianne Feinstein revealed that the CIA had spied on the computer network being used by the Senate Intelligence Committee to investigate the CIA‘s torture program. As Feinstein revealed, while the computers had been set up by the CIA (for security reasons), there was a written agreement that everything on them would be considered the Senate‘s, and that the CIA was not to look at them. The CIA violated this agreement, after realizing (upon being questioned in a Senate hearing) that the Senate had in its hands a draft of the so-called „Panetta Report“ — an internal review of all the documents the CIA had given to the Senate staffers, which more or less confirmed all their findings about the CIA torture program. Apparently, the CIA never intended to turn over that report to the Senate staffers, but did. Rather than realize its mistake, the CIA then snooped on the network and more, including Senate staff emails.

(6. April) Am 15. Februar 2014 nun spricht am Rande des C.S.U.-Parteitags in Bamberg der gerade zurĂŒckgetretene Innenminister Hans-Peter Friedrich mit Journalisten. Dabei sagt Friedrich aus, dass er wĂ€hrend der laufenden Koalitionsverhandlungen mit der S.P.D. von seinem damaligen StaatssekretĂ€r (und heutigen Kanzleramtsminister) Klaus-Dieter Fritsche einen Anruf erhalten und ĂŒber Ermittlungen gegen Edathy âin Kenntnis gesetztâ worden sei. Danach habe er spontan S.P.D.-Vorsitzenden Sigmar Gabriel informiert.
Die âWeltâ erwĂ€hnt bei ihrem Artikel vom 15.02. nicht den Ort des Interviews, den C.S.U.-Parteitag, als sie ihn spĂ€ter wie folgt zitiert:
âWir waren da in der Sitzung, dann habe ich den Anruf bekommen. Da habe ich gedacht, ich sage ihm das jetzt, dass er es politisch beurteilen kann.â
Dann:
âIch habe mit meinem StaatssekretĂ€r im Innenministerium gesprochenâ, sagte Friedrich und meinte damit Klaus-Dieter Fritsche. Auf die Nachfrage der âWelt am Sonntagâ: âMit sonst niemanden?â antwortete Friedrich: âNein!â
Es nehmen mehrere Kamerateams die Aussagen Friedrichs auf. AnschlieĂend verschwinden die Aufnahmen in der Versenkung. In der âTagesschauâ dieses Tages, dem 15. Februar, ist nur ein Ausschnitt zu sehen, mit einem durchaus bedeutsamen Zitat von Friedrich:
âDas habe ich nicht gesagt, weil ich extra nochmal nachgefragt habe: geht es um strafrechtliche VorwĂŒrfe? Nein. Dann ist die logische Folge, dass es auch keine strafrechtlichen Ermittlungen geben kann.â
Um es zu verdeutlichen: der heutige Kanzleramtsminister Klaus-Dieter Fritsche behauptet also beim Anruf gegenĂŒber seinem damaligen vorgesetzten Innenminister Friedrich, dass es nicht um strafrechtliche VorwĂŒrfe gegen Edathy gehe.
Wie kam Fritsche zu dieser EinschĂ€tzung? Und was oder wer befugte Fritsche ĂŒberhaupt dazu âim Oktober 2013âł (der genaue Zeitpunkt des Telefonats mit Friedrich wird ĂŒberall peinlichst vermieden) Informationen ĂŒber einen Abgeordneten an den Innenminister weiter zu reichen, trotz der ImmunitĂ€t des betreffenden Bundestagsabgeordneten Edathy und obwohl es noch bis zum 5. November 2013 dauerte, bis der Leiter der Staatsanwaltschaft Hannover Jörg Fröhlich die Verfahrensakte ĂŒberhaupt in die HĂ€nde bekam?
Die Antwort: Fritsche befugte sich selbst.
