We’ve never said no before — Anwar says Malaysia prepared to join Gaza peacekeeping mission if requested

“On the proposal for peacekeeping forces, that will be discussed by the Arab League, the OIC, and once the United Nations Security Council agrees, Malaysia is ready if requested or required,” he told the Dewan Rakyat during Prime Minister’s Question Time.

“In the past, we have never refused such requests. Whenever peacekeeping forces are needed, we send them. I agree that a peacekeeping mission is among the best guarantees to ensure security in Gaza,” he said in response to Kubang Kerian MP Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

Anwar to attend emergency Arab-Islamic Summit to discuss Israeli attack on Doha

„The Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit will be attended by leaders and representatives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states and will be preceded by an Arab-Islamic Ministerial Preparatory Meeting on Sept 14,“ it said.

It added that the Prime Minister‘s participation in the emergency summit showed Malaysia‘s full support for and solidarity with Qatar as well as a continuation of Malaysia‘s efforts in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and condemning the brutality and violence perpetrated by Israel.

Thailand, Cambodia agree to ceasefire after 5 days of battle

The leaders of Cambodia and Thailand agreed to a ceasefire on Monday effective at midnight, in a bid to bring an end to their deadliest conflict in more than a decade after five days of fierce fighting.

Anwar calls for world consensus to expel Israel from UN

Malaysia prepares draft resolution to expel Israel from UN

(November 6, 2024)

Malaysian prime minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced that Malaysia is preparing a draft resolution for the UN General Assembly to expel Israel from the United Nations.

“We are also studying (a proposal)… after the violation of laws, principles and UN decisions, for Israel to be expelled as a member of the UN,” Anwar told parliament in a special address on Monday.

UN draft resolution: Malaysia proposes expelling Israel from UN

Malaysia has prepared a draft resolution of the United Nations General Assembly (UN) which, among others, suggests that Israel be removed as a member of the organisation should there be a violation of laws, rules and decisions in issues involving Palestine.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim told the Dewan Rakyat yesterday that the draft resolution is in the negotiation process and is expected to be tabled at the UN General Assembly for approval soon.

KUALA LUMPUR (ANN/THE STAR) – Malaysia is playing a key role in drafting a United Nations resolution addressing the Israel-Palestine conflict, which could potentially seek to revoke Israel’s UN membership, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced.

Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday, Anwar noted that the resolution also aims to obtain an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the presence and operations of international agencies in Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).

Malaysia proposes UN Resolution to address Israel’s membership amid Palestine conflict
