Das Pentagon kann nicht bestätigen, dass sich der russische Su-24-Kampfjet zum Zeitpunkt seines Abschusses im türkischen Luftraum befand. „Der Zwischenfall ereignete sich an der Grenze. Das ist alles, was ich Ihnen sagen kann“, teilte Pentagon-Sprecher Steve Warren am Dienstag in Washington mit.

Auf den Webseiten der tagesschau, in den stündlichen Radionachrichten und -berichten, sowie im 100s-Videoformat der tagesschau verschweigt die ARD konsequent, dass sich der heute Morgen von der türkischen Luftwaffe abgeschossene russische Kampfjet im syrischen Luftraum befand. Die BILD titelt schon: „Putin attackiert Türkei“.

A Syrian insurgent group, which uses U.S. Tow missiles, said its fighters hit the helicopter with an anti-tank missile.

Nach türkischen Angaben verletzte die Maschine den Luftraum der Türkei.

As the U.S. and Turkey together provide “air protection,” armed forces from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) will launch an offensive against ISIL.

Officials stressed that the Turkish Armed Forces will not put boots on the ground, though action will be taken against ISIL elements along the Turkey-Syria border.

The Turkish military will hit ISIL targets in Syria by strikes launched from Turkish territory, they said.

(23.11.2015) Backed by U.S. and Turkish fighter jets, the Syrian rebel group of the Levant Front raised up Sunday its movements on the borderline with Turkey northern Syria to help establish a possible “safe zone” with the support of Turkey, military sources reported.

The warning was conveyed to Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov on Nov. 19, as he was summoned to the Foreign Ministry in reaction to Russian air strikes on Turkmen villages in northwestern Syria only a few kilometers from the Turkish border, daily Hürriyet has learned from reliable sources.

Turkey is drawing up military equipment to the border with Syria in Hatay province, the Turkish Haber7 newspaper reported Nov.24.

The decision was made after the Turkish Air Force shot down Russian military aircraft in the Turkish airspace, according to the newspaper.

Vladimir Putin: I have a positive assessment of our pilots’ work. Today, I informed our Iranian friends about these matters and we exchanged views on the situation in Syria.

As for our troops’ actions, this is a complex operation involving major satellite support and various air force resources. These include attack planes, bombers, strategic missile-carrying bombers, fighter jets that are covering them, and two fleet groupings in the Caspian and Mediterranean seas, including missile carriers which are striking from the Caspian Sea basin. Naturally, all this is done in agreement with our Iranian partners; I think it would simply be impossible without their participation.

This is complicated, extensive work in coordination and technology maintenance, which serves as evidence of our officers’ and troops’ high level of training. These efforts are bringing positive results and our joint assessment was constructive. But I want to say again that there is no other option for resolving the Syrian problem in the long-term other than through political negotiations.
