The referendum on July 5 will express the results in Greece of a contest between capitalism‘s management and plans for European society (economic decline for capitalism‘s old centers, disappearance of former „middle layers,“ their major cities‘ transformation into playgrounds for capitalism‘s richest, etc.) versus what Europe‘s working classes will permit. It will show Europe its future. If the Greek people vote no – their refusal to cooperate with capitalism‘s plans – then a new political landscape will emerge. In Europe and likely beyond, the new 21st-century struggle will pit new forms of socialism against forms of capitalist barbarism.

Während der „Europäische Stabilisierungsmechanismus“ E.S.M. (in dem die zuvor geschaffene luxemburgische Aktiengesellschaft „European Financial Stability Facility“ E.F.S.F. aufgegangen ist) Griechenland heute für pleite erklärt und sich entsprechende Schritte offen gehalten hat, zahlt Griechenland zwar nicht mehr an den Internationalen Währungsfonds: aber an die Bundesbank und die anderen Eigentümer seiner Schuldscheine (Staatsanleihen).

Allein an den deutschen Staat aka die Bundesbank sind das rund eine Milliarde Euro. Und nur für 2014 und 2015.

Mr Regling said: “The EFSF is Greece’s biggest creditor. This event of default is cause for deep concern. It breaks the commitment made by Greece to honour its financial obligations to all its creditors, and it opens the door to severe consequences for the Greek economy and the Greek people. The EFSF loans concerned are €109.1 billion under the Master Financial Assistance Facility Agreement, €5.5 billion under the Bond Interest Facility Agreement and €30 billion under Private Sector Involvement Facility Agreement.

Iranian Ambassador to the IAEA Reza Najafi said the two have agreed on a general framework how to work on removing the international body’s questions regarding Iran‘s nuclear activities, ISNA news agency reported July 3.

The two are to hold an expert meeting to define a timetable and the executive measures needed to meet IAEA questions.

Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said he’ll quit if Greece votes to accept creditors’ bailout proposals in Sunday’s referendum. He said he would „rather cut my arm off“ than sign a new accord that doesn’t restructure Greece’s outstanding debt. Varoufakis expects Greeks to follow the government’s recommendation to reject the bailout proposals, which would require further tax increases and spending cuts in exchange for continued aid. He spoke to Guy Johnson on „The Pulse.“

Die Veröffentlichung des Briefes in der Financial Times gab zu Spekulationen Anlass, dass Tsipras kurz davor stehe, das Referendum abzusagen. Nach seiner öffentlichen Ansprache mussten Sicherheitsleute ein riesiges Transparent von den Mauern des Finanzministeriums entfernen, auf dem in Griechisch und Englisch stand „Nein zu Erpressung und Austerität“.

Finanzminister Yanis Varoufakis distanzierte sich auf Twitter von dem Transparent und griff zynisch zu dem Anti-Irakkriegs-Slogan „Nicht in meinem Namen“. Er erklärte, das sei das Werk von Gewerkschaftern gewesen, „die dafür nicht die Erlaubnis des Ministeriums eingeholt haben“.

Tsipras’ Problem bei seinen Bemühungen, einen faulen Handel zu vereinbaren, besteht darin, dass Deutschland, die führende imperialistische Macht in Europa, nichts weniger verlangt als einen Regimewechsel in Griechenland und die Einsetzung einer Regierung, die stark genug ist, um alle Angriffe durchzusetzen, die sie verlangt – wenn nötig mit Waffengewalt.
