Continuing his remarks to the UNGA, Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif called the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandeb strait “arteries of the global economy” that should remain free and safe.

“They must remain open, connecting nations, not becoming chokepoints of confrontation,” said Sharif. “These waters must carry the promise of prosperity, not the perils of war.”
