Gay conversion therapy works and I’ve given it, says Israeli education minister
Israel’s education minister has provoked a storm of anger by backing “gay conversion therapy”, a discredited technique that seeks to turn people heterosexual.
Rafi Peretz said it could work and that he had even performed it.
“I think that it is possible to convert [someone’s sexual orientation],” Mr Peretz said.
“I can tell you that I have deep familiarity on the issue of education, and I have also done this.”
My Family Perished in the Assimilation Shoah, According to Israel‘s Education Minister
Why isn’t the army called in to protect America’s remaining Jews, who every day face the danger of assimilation and annihilation in this Shoah? For what purpose was the State of Israel and the Israel Defense Forces founded, if not to guarantee that not one more Jew will ever be lost in a Holocaust in the Diaspora? Why aren’t U.S. Jews being airlifted to Israel, or guided by Mossad agents in the Mexican desert?
Israeli minister says US Jews marrying non-Jews is “like a second Holocaust”
(10.07.2019)
To label this comment “offensive” is a severe understatement. Fifty-eight percent of American Jews have non-Jewish spouses, per a 2013 Pew survey. Telling the majority of American Jews that they are perpetrating genocide on their own people is about as inflammatory as it gets.
Israeli education minister calls intermarriage rate of U.S. Jews „second Holocaust“
Israel‘s newly appointed Minister of Education Rafi Peretz said at a Cabinet meeting on July 1 that the rate of intermarriage among U.S. Jews is „like a second Holocaust,“ according to 3 people who were in the room.
Why it matters: Peretz, a former chief rabbi of the Israeli army, is the leader of a bloc of ultra right-wing religious parties. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was personally involved in forming this political bloc, which also includes the Jewish supremacist „Jewish Power“ party.
