(16.02.2008) Um die Ereignisse der letzten Wochen in einer der vielen ex-Kolonien Frankreichs plausibel und zusammenhängend für die Wächter der Öffentlicheit zu machen, veröffentlichen wir eine Dokumentation mit 48 öffentlich zugänglichen allgemeinen Quellen. Wir haben Szenarien einfliessen lassen, um oft taktische und für den Betrachter verwirrende Äusserungen der beteiligten Akteure in einen subjektiven Zusammenhang als einen möglichen Vorgang hinter dem Vorhang zu setzen.
Starten wir die Suche in einer Stadt, der einst unübersichtliche, geschichtenreichen Gassen und Häuserschluchten das Herz zusammennähten und die heute zu einer innen noch ein bisschen rauschenden, aber mehr und mehr dunkler werdenden Ansammlung von Zwiebelschalen rund um die noch mächtigen Flure des Elysée-Palastes geworden ist.

Paris: Die kleine, katholische Zeitung “La Croix” liess vor einer Woche die Bombe platzen: Spezialeinheiten der Regierung seien schon vor Ausbruch der Kämpfe in der ex-Kolonie Tschad gewesen und hätten dort “Kämpfe koordiniert”. Angeblich gegen die sogenannten “Rebellen”. Ausserdem seien 16 Tonnen Munition in den Tschad geliefert worden, so der “Figaro”, was weit über das Abkommen von sogenannter “logistischer Hilfe” hinausgehe. Aussenminister Bernard Kouchner hatte geleugnet. Gestern gab die französische Regierung zu: das war gelogen.

U.S. surveillance aircraft have been flying over remote areas of northeast Nigeria for two weeks, and the Pentagon struck an agreement last weekend to allow it to share intelligence directly with the Nigerian government.

The U.S. government has also sent officials from the State Department and the FBI to Nigeria to help in the search.

Nigeria has formally asked the U.N. Security Council al Qaeda sanctions committee to blacklist the Islamist militant group Boko Haram after the kidnapping of hundreds of schoolgirls, according to a confidential document obtained by Reuters.

(01.03.2013) One of the two lead contractors for Israel’s apartheid wall in the occupied West Bank, Elbit Systems, has won a $145 million contract from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide similar systems on the Mexico-US border.

This is the second time Elbit, which tests its technology on Palestinians living under Israeli military occupation, has won a major US border surveillance contract.

(02.07.2013) The ensuing public criticism pressured Jonathan to mull canceling the contract (with one report saying he has already done so). Nigeria’s House of Representatives has ordered the contract revoked.

This is at least the third major Israeli sale of surveillance systems to Nigeria, following a 2006 Aeronautics Defense Systems drone sale and 2008 contracts with NICE Systems for video surveillance.

Auch die Lage der Christen in Nordafrika, dem Nahen und Mittleren Osten hatte er dabei zum Thema gemacht.

We have finalised an agreement with the Nigerians to share intelligence with them – specifically intelligence relating to the kidnapped girls,“ Warren told reporters.

While the agreement would allow the US military to share some intelligence – including aerial imagery – with Nigeria, it does not mean that all raw US intelligence gathered could be shared, Warren added.

However, the support of Saudi Arabia, through AQIM and al- Shebab is more than a hypothesis. A Nigerian investigation which lead to the arrest of many Boko Haram’s prominent figures has uncovered a source of funding in the “Islamic World Society”, based in Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Yusuf was forced to flee to Saudi Arabia, partly because of the attacks. But he had powerful connections in the state government at the time and was allowed to return. His disciples, including Mr. Shekau, benefited from the same benevolence. The group that became Boko Haram coalesced in Maiduguri in the mid-2000s; Mr. Yusuf attacked schools and the government, and Mr. Shekau, his lieutenant, amplified the message in the neighborhoods.

confirmed that the international terror organization, Al Qaeda, has made inroads into Nigeria’s security system. (..)

He said the council would decide whether Boko Haram should be designated as an international terror group like Al-Qaeda, adding that the 15-member council would vote on the matter.
He said Nigeria had begun the implementation of recommendations at the security summit on terrorism in Nigeria which ended in Paris in Monday.

“Our team first sighted the girls on April 26 and we have been following their movement with the terrorists ever since,” one of our sources said.

“That’s why we just shake our heads when people insinuate that the military is lethargic in the search for the girls.”

Having had a good number of Boko Haram suspects in our prison custody and their continuous arrest and detention, does President Goodluck administration has any justification in its claims, we do not know Boko Haram, and we do not have reliable information about them? My submission is that President Goodluck administration does not want to end Boko Haram insurgence for two principal reasons: (1) for political gains (2) conflict entrepreneur.

(24.02.2014) Some have suggested that the government‘s decision to replace the heads of the arms of the military earlier this year allowed the insurgents to launch the recent attacks.

(14.05.) Sources said the dead soldiers and the survivors were ambushed while on a special operation in Kalabalge Local Government Area where locals had on Tuesday morning killed about 150 insurgents and arrested 10 others.

In the mid-2000s, two Israeli spy companies (Narus and Verint) were caught in the centre of a huge scandal involving the wiretapping of virtually all US phone and internet mes-
sages. Their mass surveillance services were used by America’s two largest telecom companies, AT&T and Verizon.

These telecom giants, which together control 80% of the US market, were turning over all of their customers’ internet communications and phone call records to the US National Secu-
rity Agency (NSA). On hundreds of occasions, these data transfers were done without legal warrants or court orders.
This warrantless wiretapping operation was a gargantuan task requiring the collection, analysis and transfer of data relating to billions of messages per day. To accomplish this, AT&T employed the services of an Israeli spy firm called Narus, while Verizon used a different Israeli spy company, Verint Systems.

The technologies of both Verint and Narus have also been absorbed into the spy products of other companies. For example, Amdocs has integrated Narus software into its products,
while Verisign has incorporated systems from both Verint and Narus into its “NetDiscovery” service.
