The French government announced that 70,000 police officers will be deployed across the country on Saturday in a bid to avoid a repeat of the violence and looting that plagued last weekend‘s demonstrations. After meeting with President Emmanuel Macron Friday, high school student groups that sparked the movement a month ago called on members to continue protesting until their demands are met.
