The Palestinian Authority was represented along with officials from countries such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Italy, the UK prime minister‘s office said.
Officials from the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development were also attending to support what Falconer called an Arab Reconstruction Plan.
The UK is set to hold a three-day summit on the subject of Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction, Downing Street announced on Sunday.
The UK Wilton Park summit will bring together representatives from businesses, civil society, and governments to discuss postwar Gaza, in which the UK will take a leading role. Among the international parties attending will be Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
Now we must deliver lasting peace and a secure future for the whole region.
The UK is providing additional humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza, and we will lead efforts to accelerate its reconstruction.
