These concerns came to a head at the U.S. House of Representatives Communications and Technology Subcommittee’s recent Global Internet hearing. Despite strong U.S. support for a free and open Internet, many worry that the December event is just the beginning of an ongoing effort by the ITU to expand its power and regulate the Web on a global scale.
