Far-left candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon has increased his showing by 2 percentage points to 13%, catching up with centrist candidate Francois Bayrou and closing in on third place, occupied by Marine Le Pen‘s far right National Front, the poll showed.

The first round of the French presidential election will be held on April 22. If no candidate wins an absolute majority in the first round, the top two candidates will face each other in a runoff on May 6.
