The bill was put forth two weeks ago by Likud lawmaker Sharren Haskel, who said “the bill has the prime minister’s full backing,” The Jerusalem Post reported.

In light of the US announcement on Monday to shift its position on West Bank settlements, the Knesset (Israeli parliament) member requested to fast-track her bill, aiming to pass it next week.
