On Friday, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a plan that will ease deportation rules for undocumented immigrants who have lived in the US since a young age. The new policy relates directly to the DREAM (Development Relief and Education for Minors) Act, which was first proposed in 2001 by Senators Dick Durbin and Orinn Hatch.
