Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the Ukrainian side’s initiative. The two leaders discussed possible measures for assisting in the peaceful settlement of the situation in southeast Ukraine.

The two presidents confirmed their readiness to continue exchange of opinions, including on the gas issue, on the sidelines of the ASEM Summit in Milan on October 16-17.
