Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, President of the French Republic Francois Hollande and President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

In accordance with a prior agreement, the four leaders continued their discussion of the Measures to Implement the Minsk Agreements, adopted by the Contact Group to facilitate peaceful settlement in southeastern Ukraine. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for strict observance by the parties to the conflict of the comprehensive ceasefire, which has already entered into force, and beginning the withdrawal of heavy weapons.
