(12.03.2014) Officials said Ms. Monaco sought to ensure that Turkey would not allow fighters and weapons to reach Al Qaida militias in northern Syria. (…) Ms. Monaco also held CI talks with Saudi Arabia and Yemen on March 8. Officials said the U.S. envoy reviewed both the war against Al Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula as well as efforts to introduce democracy.
On the following day, the U.S. envoy met Saudi officials in preparation for Obama’s visit at the end of March.
