This year, the Center for Democratic Culture is thinking bigger. For their new campaign „Hass hilft“ (Hatred helps), they have convinced soccer club FC St. Pauli, Sky TV, BigFM and individual donors to give 1 Euro for each racist comment posted on Facebook. Their site www.hasshilft.de even has a high score keeping track of the most prolific racist posters who earn the most money for the anti-racist cause. (Do note that posting racist content is illegal by German law and these posters will likely be brought to court later, so don‘t try to game this.) The money will go towards EXIT Deutschland, helping neo-Nazis leave the extremist scene, as well as to refugee projects organized by Aktion Deutschland Hilft. Racists raising money against racism – a brilliant idea.
