Seoul-based broadcaster YTN reports, citing sources familiar with North Korea, the man has asked the South Korean government for political asylum and is now being protected by South Korean authorities at a secret place in China.
The sources say, however, that it won‘t be easy to bring him to Seoul, as China has intervened, while the U.S. is also demanding that he be handed over to Washington.
