(20.2.2017) At the Senate hearing, Friedman’s attitude towards the two-state solution seems to have undergone a complete reversal. One senator noted that in a private pre-hearing conversation, Friedman told him a two-state solution the „gold standard.“ At the hearing, Friedman said:

„If the Israelis and Palestinians were able to achieve a two-state solution along perimeters agreeable to them, and the Prime Minister of Israel yesterday outlined some of them, I would be delighted.“
