Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed al-Orabi resigned Saturday ahead of an imminent cabinet reshuffle, official television reported.

Prime Minister Essam Sharaf accepted al-Orabi‘s resignation, according to the TV report, which gave no reason for the resignation, DPA reported.

Al-Orabi was appointed in June. He previously served as Egyptian ambassador to Germany for eight years.
