According to seismological centers of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 04:02 hours local time (23:32 GMT Monday) in an area located at 54.57 degrees longitude and 33.33 degrees latitude.
No report is available yet on possible damage or casualties caused by the earthquake.
