Russia is very concerned with the aspiration of the opposition forces of Ukraine to charge the situation in the country even more. One of the opposition leaders appealed to Ukrainian nationals,in public, to create “militia bands”, patrol the streets and organise protest actions near regional administrations. This is a direct contradiction to the statements that the opposition is committed to democracy and European values.

We are perplexed that such provocative steps were taken immediately after contacts by opposition leaders with representatives of foreign countries, in Munich a few days ago.

We expect the Ukrainian opposition to refrain from threats and ultimatums and activate a dialogue with the authorities to lead the country out of the deep constitutional crisis.
