Two polls published on Saturday evening give the Conservatives a commanding lead over Labour, suggesting that Mr Johnson’s hardline stance on Brexit is cutting through to voters.

The Tories are up three points on 35 percent in the latest Opinium poll, with Labour trailing in second place on 25 percent and the Liberal Democrats on 17 percent.
