On March 31 the court ruled that a charge against Berlusconi for involvement in the publication of a conversation in 2005 between Piero Fassino, then head of the centre-left Democratic Left (DS), and Giovanni Consorte, the former chairman of Unipol, an association of insurers historically linked to the DS, in his brother Paolo‘s conservative newspaper Il Giornale had timed out.
