When the fathers of both the internet itself and the World Wide Web are both speaking out against the ITU‘s efforts to have further control over the future of the internet, isn‘t it time to step back and ask what benefit the ITU would really provide. To date, none has been shown. Instead, we get vague talk about increasing „fairness“ by diverting money from innovators to telcos who haven‘t innovated with the promise that this will lead to greater investment.
