Dr Saban added her thoughts separately afterwards to express her disappointment: “We have come here to solve the problems of Syria. The problem here is not Homs. The problem is western imperialism. Do the western countries wish Assad to step down and al-Qaeda to come to power? The Syrian government is already negotiating the issue of helping people who have got stuck in the historical center of the city Homs with some international institutions, such as UN and the Red Cross”
