About 50,000 citizens of Orumiyeh city and about 10,000 in Tabriz protested against rapid drying up the Orumiyeh Lake, which has lost half of its surface.

Association for the Defense of Azerbaijani Political Prisoners ( ADAPP) reported that police and security forces used tear gas, firearms , pellet gun and baton against protesters. The rally left several injured and jailed.
