Pyatt stressed that U.S. imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) could make a significant contribution to the diversification of supply both for Greece and for Europe, recalling the statement by Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras during his visit in the U.S., that Greece will become the third U.S. shale gas importer in Europe. At the same time, he pointed out that his country supports the emerging role of Greece as an energy hub in the SEE region.
