The no-knock raids have proliferated as a part of the disastrous „War on Drugs.“ The idea is that police on a drug raid bust you door down without announcing who they are in order to surprise the inhabitants and keep them from destroying drugs, typically by flushing them down the toilet.

Here‘s the problem with that reasoning, as we see it. If there are so few drugs in the house that they can be destroyed in a matter of seconds then we question how serious the need for a raid is in the first place.
