We were promised by the Eurocrats a continent-wide democratic defence against fascist dictatorship, but what we are heading for at great speed is precisely that dictatorship. And it looks very much like what went on in the Soviet bloc for decades: government not by elected politicians but by unelected commissars and technocrats.
