Retired murder squad detective Colin Sutton revealed that when he first entered the flat he was struck by how hot it was and how this made him think the heating could have been left on to speed up decomposition of the body.
He said: “If he had been poisoned, then the chemical compounds might have vanished by the time toxicology results were conducted.”
