Putin appoints Sergey Kiriyenko first deputy chief of presidential staff

The position of the first deputy chief of the Kremlin staff has been vacant since Vyacheslav Volodin was relieved of his duties following election to the State Duma. The chief of the presidential staff, Anton Vaino, has two first deputies and three deputies.
Sergey Kiriyenko was Russia’s Prime Minister in April-August 1998. Since November 15, 2005 he has held Rosatom.
