A word of welcome to you all. I am here today to unveil a book written by Franca, the woman with whom I spent almost all my life and who left me just a few months ago. Indeed she left us all, her children, her grandchildren and her friends …many, many friends, as well as leaving a huge vacuum which is truly impossible to fill. However, before she left us, Franca left us a memory of herself, a sort of diary that, in my opinion as well as the opinion of those who have read it recently, is truly excellent and more importantly is an important work. Why do I say it is important? Well, because in addition to the irony and sarcasm towards certain unmentionable personalities from our recent and not so recent history, she has also given us some previously unpublished essential information for understanding the crazy world in which we are living, particularly here in Italy.
