Kuwait has called for a Middle East free of nuclear weapons, stressing that Israel must join the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty (NPT). “There are some regions like the Middle East that are still far from achieving the desired goal due to Israel’s possession of nuclear weapons and ignoring all legitimate and international resolutions,” said Abdulaziz Ammash Ajmi, first secretary of Kuwait’s permanent delegation to the United Nations, on Wednesday during the 2016 substantive session of the Disarmament Commission in New York.
