ROME, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) — Italy‘s cabinet said on Tuesday that it would call five confidence motions in the Senate to speed up the approval of a new electoral law.

The move renewed tensions between Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni‘s center-left cabinet and some opposition forces in parliament, which called for street protests later this week.
