The African National Congress (ANC) said on Sunday, June 14, 2015, that the International Criminal Court (ICC) is “no longer useful for the purposes for which it was intended”.
The ANC spoke after Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, wanted by the ICC for alleged war crimes in the Darfur conflict, arrived in South Africa to attend an African Union summit.
Bashir looked unlikely to be arrested as government had granted immunity to all attending the summit.
