(19.Dezember 2014) Recently it was revealed that the Motion Picture Association of America was coordinating with their affiliated movie studios how they could implement various anti-piracy measures on the internet including the very controversial website blocking via DNS at the ISP and transit provider level.
This is devastating to the very principle of a free neutral and open internet. Not only does it end the web’s ability to be a stable platform but it also adds the possibility for blocking to be extended to other websites providing questionable content. This is essentially changing the way the internet works to protect interests of companies with the excuse of copyright.
