Based on preliminary reports, it appears that Saleh was able to escape Sana’a amid clashes between his forces and Houthi fighters, only to be ambushed by the rebel group later on and shot in the head.

Houthi fighters have released video evidence which in turn appears to confirm initial reports made several hours ago that Saleh had been killed.
