Georgian Interior Ministry issued a statement today that the Interior Minister used a fake passport to leave the country as part of the presidential delegation to Yerevan. According to the Interior Ministry, passport, which was presented to border control, was issued in the name of some of Levan Maisuradze, however, it was affixed photograph Merabishvili. Georgian Interior Ministry also noted that the authorities did not disrupt the visit of the president and Merabishvili allowed to leave the country, but on their return Merabishvili left the airport in the presidential escort, causing the inability to hold against him statutory procedures.
