Western forces in Afghanistan have accidentally killed seven civilians, including three children, in an air attack.

The governor of Helmand province, where the incident took place, said two men, two women and three children died when the car they were travelling in was hit late on Friday.

„ISAF forces fired on a vehicle carrying insurgents,“ said a statement from governor Muhammad Gulab Mangal‘s office.
