A referendum on Catalonia‘s independence from Spain now appears to be imminent as both the CiU and the ERC support the move. Sunday‘s elections were in effect a referendum on the political future of Catalonia, which comprises the provinces of Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.
