Local sources said on Saturday that the Syrian Armed Forces have advanced against the militant groups in the Eastern flank of the Northern city of Aleppo to lift the two-year-long siege imposed by the ISIL terrorists on the Kuweires Airbase.

The sources said that the Syrian Army‘s Cheetah Forces and National Defense Forces carried out a powerful assault on ISIL frontline positions at the integral village of Sheikh Ahmad, resulting in a series of intense firefights inside the Southern district before the pro-government forces broke-through the terrorist group’s defense lines.
