Members of the People‘s Assembly said that holding the presidential elections is proof of the sovereignty of the Syrian state and its ability to overcome all conspiracies.

This came during an Assembly session on Tuesday chaired by Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Lahham.

The members said that the Syrian people proved that they alone grant legitimacy and choose the president of Syria, and that the elections shocked Syria‘s enemies and constitutes a civilized response to the lies these enemies attempted to propagate.
