He made the remarks in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi on the sidelines of the 67th UN General Assembly meeting in New York on Friday.

Lavrov emphasized the need for all-out cooperation and continuation of consulting with the Islamic Republic of Iran for resolving the Syrian crisis.

The two foreign ministers stressed adopting a framework for peacefully resolve the Syrian crisis while calling for backing the mission of the UN-Arab League Special Envoy on Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi.
