– Lawmakers in Greece and the country’s creditors will consider the government’s latest proposal for a bailout to help it stay in the eurozone.
– Athens’s proposal, prepared with help from France, meets most of the terms demanded by the creditors.
– A faction of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’s Syriza party opposes the proposal and says that an exit from the eurozone may be preferable.
The finance ministers from the 19 eurozone countries will meet in Brussels on Saturday, followed by a meeting Sunday of the leaders of the European Union countries.
