Israel deployed snipers and tanks along the Gaza border on Friday as it braced itself for violent clashes with thousands of Palestinians protesters set to surge the fence for the third consecutive week.

Some 32 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire over two consecutive weekends of protests in Gaza, demanding the right to return to ancestral homes in what is now Israel.
