DoD operations supported in this portion of the spectrum include telemetry for aircraft and missile flight testing, deep space observation, rocket and missile launch monitoring, satellite communications, galactic and extragalactic radio astronomy, microwave communications, and the operation of simulators during combat aircrew training for surface-to-air missile operations.
