The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) on Friday affirmed that Syria is being targeted by imperialist forces as a part of a plan against its role in Middle East, which has geostrategic significance due to its energy resources.

In a statement published by its official newspaper Rizospastis, the KKE stressed that the Syrian people alone can decide Syria‘s future, and that the most impotent issue is preventing imperialists from waging any war in the region.
