50th Anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington

The August 28, 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom was the highlight of a pivotal year for the civil rights movement. Among its speakers was Martin Luther King, Jr., who was arrested that April during anti-segregation protests in Alabama and wrote in his famous „Letter from a Birmingham Jail“ that „We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.
